Operating as a company within the Socket & Allied Screws Group, MDS Wedgloking offers a bespoke after-service of wedgloking - a process of embedding an engineered plastic pellet compressed into the side of the thread promoting a locking action.
The pellet is compressed into a hole drilled in the threaded region of the fastener. Its size and position are standard but can be modified to meet customer requirements. This system forms a wedge, creating metal to metal friction when the pellet is deformed. As the pellet strives to regain its original shape, this causes firm locking.
